Important Information for Schools

📢 Essential Details

This mandatory seeding event is required for teams wishing to participate in Mainlands and VNZ School Nationals.

Volley South prides itself on being a highly organised association. All necessary information was provided in September 2024, with entry requests and details communicated last year. Despite this, we have worked diligently this week to accommodate late changes and the delayed seeding information from CVA.

📍 Date: Sunday, 9 February 2025

📍 Venue: ILT Stadium Southland

💰 Entry Fee: $160 per team

📝 Entry Deadline: Originally 31 October 2024, extended to 1 December 2024

⏰ Doors Open: 7:30 AM

🏐 First Game: 8:00 AM sharp

⏳ Schedule & Logistics

🟡 Warm-Up Courts Available:

• 7:30 AM – For 8:00 AM games
• 9:00 AM – For 10:00 AM games

📌 Team Arrival & Match Schedule

🔵 Wakatipu Teams (Boys & Girls)

🚪 Arrival: 9:00 AM for warm-up courts🏐 Game Start: 10:00 AM sharp

🎯 Warm-up Court Allocations:

• WHS A – Court 4
• WHS B – Court 5
• WHS Boys A – Court 9

🟢 Town Teams

Girls:

🚪 Arrival: 7:30 AM (stadium access)

🏐 First Game: 8:00 AM sharp🎯

Warm-up/Playing Courts:

Courts 3 & 4 (warm-up) or Court 6 (shared)

Boys:

🚪 Arrival: 9:00 AM for warm-up courts

🏐 Game Start: 10:00 AM sharp

🎯 Warm-up Court Allocations:

• CSC A – Court 10
• JHC A – Court 7

⚠️ Please adhere strictly to the schedule to ensure smooth match transitions.

⚠️ Important Housekeeping Rules

📌 Lunch Break

 built into the draw Girls - 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM, BOYS 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM 

📌 Adherence to Match Start Times: Delays in previous regional events were caused by teams not starting net time on time when instructed by referees. All teams must comply with start-time guidelines.

📌 Competition Rules: We will follow Canterbury Volleyball’s regulations, including strict match timing and conduct rules. Teams must review these before the event.

📌 Seeding Event – NOT a Tournament: This event determines rankings for Mainlands. Matches are strictly for seeding purposes.

📌 2025 Seeding Update: The final Divisions 2-4 seedings were confirmed by CVA on 4 February 2025, resulting in format adjustments.

🎖️ Seeding Allocations

Boys:

🥇 Division 2: 2 seeds🥈 Division 3: 1 seed

Girls:

🥇 Division 2: 2 seeds🥈 Division 3: 1 seed🥉 Division 4: 2 seeds

📋 Match Schedule & Duty Requirements

📌 Team Restrictions:

• A school’s A team will not compete against its B team, as they are seeded within the same school.
• The A team is awarded the win in these cases.

📌 Duty Requirements:

Each team must cover two courts simultaneously, with five players per court:

✅ 1 x First Referee

✅ 1 x Second Referee

✅ 1 x Scorer

✅ 2 x Line Judges

For teams preparing for Mainlands, we encourage participation in the Open Regional Championship. This event will also serve as tournament preparation and a fundraiser for Volley South age group teams.
