School Volleyball Information:

The School Volleyball League is a school-based League for students from years 5 - 13. This League is the largest with around 55 teams playing at ILT Stadium Southland every Wednesday during Terms 1, 3 & 4. We have multiple grades on offer to suit all our players. We pride ourselves in knowing we have a safe and happy environment where our players, coaches, managers, referees, volunteers, staff, whanau and friends feel welcome. 

We offer double games each fortnight for schools outside the Invercargill area to help lessen travel time and cost. If you wish to take us up on this offer, please contact us via email at info@volleysouth.org.nz. Please refer to our school's handbook for in-depth information.

Important Information for Team Entries

  • Coaching Requirement: Each team must have a registered coach or designated person in charge, different from the sports coordinator, for direct communication.
  • Venue Constraints: Due to venue limitations, entries are capped at 75 teams.
  • Draw Requests: Travel teams will be prioritized for evening game slots (5:30 PM - 8:00 PM) and may play multiple games on travel days. Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 social teams are scheduled earlier, between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM when possible.

Notify Us:

Please inform us as soon as possible if any team is unable to start in Week 1. We will aim to accommodate by scheduling double games in the following weeks.

    2025 Volley South Regional Seeding Event - Only teams registered to attend these events can do seedings- Mainlands and VNZ School Nationals

    • Date: Saturday, 8 February 2025 (possible overflow to 9 February 2025)
    • Venue: ILT Stadium Southland
    • Entry Fee: $160 (one-day) / $320 (two-day)
    • Entries due: 31 Oct 2024- extended to 1 Dec 2024
    • Doors Open: 7:30 AM
    • First Game: 8:00 AM
    • Format: Division 3+ format aligning with VNZ guidelines


    2025 Volley South Senior Championships Event Details


    Beach Senior Championships

    • Location: Otepuni Community Hub, Forth Street, Invercargill
    • Time: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM (if required)
    • Entry Fee: $15 each 
    • Entries due: 12 Feb 2025 
    • Date: Saturday 15 March 2025

    Indoor Senior Championships

    • Format: checking with VNZ  - South Island best of 3 sets (2 sets to 25, 1 set to 15). Rally points with two-point advantage, no cap.
    • Location: ILT Stadium Southland
    • Time: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (may extend until 8:00 PM)
    • Entry Fee: $160 (one-day) / $320 (two-day)
    • Entries due: 12 Feb 2025
    • Doors Open: 7:30 AM
    • First Game: 8:00 AM
    • Date: Saturday 8th March and possibly 9th March dependant on entires
