To our Volleyball Community,
We hope to start Volleyball on the 3rd June 2020!. Wow, what a journey these past eight weeks have been! Monday 11th May much-anticipated announcement from the Government has proven that New Zealanders can do anything - we have collectively and successfully contained Covid-19. We started Level 2 on Thursday 14th May, and with that we opened our office. Monday 25th May 2020 we anticipate mass gatherings will be increased to 100. We are taking online entries now for Social Volleyball, see information below and on our website.
Your ability to have some fun and participate in Volleyball safely is incredibly important to us, and we want to make sure that we do our bit to keep NZ free from COVID-19. You will notice some changes to the way we do things, and we want to let you know ahead of time. Most of these, we have been working towards before Covid-19 and relate to online entries, payments and our Volleyball app. The most obvious change is that we need to do contact tracing upon entry, our staff will be wearing face masks, and all referees will be wearing face shields for your protection and theirs, for as long as this is the favoured advice.
We will be taking no chances with any staff or volunteer member who feels unwell. We will have a low threshold for any member that has any symptoms of illness and will ask that they stay home. We ask that you do the same. If you feel unwell, or if you are at-risk or have any COVID-19 symptoms such as a cough, high fever, or shortness of breath, please stay home and get tested.
We ask for your understanding and patience as we implement these COVID-19 Level 2-1 safety precautions. We realize that coming to the ILT Stadium Southland is supposed to be an opportunity to play sport and have fun with your mates, and we will try our best to make the experience as positive and seamless for you as we can. Ultimately though, we want to keep you safe during these unprecedented times, so we need to follow these safety protocols.
